No ‘Astaghfaar’ for Veena Malik

Newly-launched Hero TV of the Express media group has determined not to air its particular plan for Ramadan, ‘Astaghfaar’, in the face of a rising public outcry and an online petition that had garnered abundance of support against its contentious host, Veena Malik.

The promo for Veena’s Ramadan exceptional made rounds on each social networking website, prompting hundreds of blog entries and sealing the contract for skyrocketing ratings for Hero TV before still being launched.

Talking to Pakistan now, PEMRA spokesman Fakhruddin Mughal supposed that Hero TV’s ‘Astaghfaar’ went against the authority’s code of conduct as well as hurt public feeling and aspirations.
He said that Hero TV was informed about the huge criticism invoked on community media as well as by religious furthermore social groups, and it resolute to take the show down without more ado.
The promos and trailers of the show, where Veena appear with a teary face, sparked an outrage across community media platforms. Various blog posts alleged that this was only a marketing stunt and Hero TV had never future to air the show.

But, the PEMRA spokesman denied this statement, revealing that Veena had certainly been employed for the program.

Seem like the queen of scandal, Veena, will not be repentant her sins on cable TV after all. While the online roster for criticism on the PEMRA website had certainly gained sufficient objections to take action, many her fans on Twitter vociferously tweeted against this move, asking for Aamir Liaquat moreover Maya Khan’s own shows to be taken off air as well.
